We’re excited to announce that The Wave Machine will be performing live at The Red River Inn on Friday 18th September as part of the No Pro 2026 Surf Competition Weekend.
As competitors, locals and visitors gather ahead of a packed weekend of surfing at Gwithian, we’ll be kicking things off with an evening of live music, great food and good company.
The Perfect Soundtrack to No Pro Weekend
The Wave Machine is the musical project of Cornwall-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Angus Trott, whose unique live performances blend guitar, bass, trumpet, percussion and vocals into a laid-back, ocean-inspired sound. Drawing inspiration from surf culture and life by the sea, his music has gained a loyal following throughout Cornwall and beyond.
Known for creating a full-band sound through live looping and layered instrumentation, The Wave Machine has performed at festivals and events across the UK, including Tunes in the Dunes, St Ives Food Festival, Rock Oyster Festival and many more.

No Pro has become one of Cornwall’s favourite grassroots surf competitions, bringing together surfers of all ages in a friendly and competitive atmosphere. The Friday night gathering at The Red River Inn has become an important part of the weekend, offering competitors and supporters the chance to come together before the action begins in the water on Saturday.
Whether you’re entering the competition, supporting friends and family, or simply looking for a great night of live music, The Wave Machine provides the perfect soundtrack to the start of the weekend.
